Response Requested (if interested): Meeting with IRS Appeals Area Director in San Francisco - March 18th

Hi Everyone,

Patrick McGuire, Appeals Area Director, is interested in conducting a meeting with no more than 10 practitioners who have Appeals experience. In addition, since AJAC (APPEALS JUDICIAL APPROACH AND CULTURE) is relatively new, they’re also interested in getting feedback about this process.

Meeting details:

When:         Wednesday, March 18th

Where:        IRS Appeals

                    100 First Street, Suite 2100

                    21st Floor – Conference Rooms A, B and C

                    San Francisco

Time:          10:00 am - Noon

If you have prior experience with Appeals and are interested and available to participate in this face-to-face meeting, please provide your name and contact information to me ASAP.

Note the Director has requested a small number of participants for this special meeting, therefore selections will be made (by the Director) on a “first come, first served” basis.  As of today there are 2 slots left.

Thanks in advance for your consideration of this opportunity.

FYI: Early Bird Special for Dublin's Annual Tax Practitioner IRS Seminar extended through September 2, 2014

Hello Everyone,

I hope all is going well with you!  (I have been on a detail to IRS’ Disclosure training program for the last few months and then on vacation, etc.).

FYI:  The Early Bird Special for Dublin’s Annual Tax Practitioner IRS Seminar has been extended through midnight today (September 2, 2014).

This is an opportunity for you to meet with IRS personnel to get the latest information on exams, appeals, FBAR, Taxpayer Advocate, and Criminal Investigation.  “In person” events with IRS have been very limited over the last few years due to budget cuts, etc.  Don’t miss this opportunity to get your questions answered and make personal contacts with IRS.

Please see attached flyer for event’s information including: seminar’s topics, CPE credit, and how to register, etc.

FYI: IRS Issue Management Resoluction System (IMRS) Thursday Call May 22, 2014 8:30-9:00 a.m.

Hello Everyone,

Our Western Area Issue Management Resolution (IMRS) Adjunct Analyst has recently started "IMRS Monthly Calls" where on the fourth Thursday of each month the IMRS Adjunct Analyst holds a brief 30 minute meeting via WebInterpoint (a webinar type technology) and AT&T conference call to share some information about IMRS including the IMRS "Hot Issues Report", etc. The Adjunct Analyst then opens the discussion to see if any practitioners have noticed any possible systemic issues having to do with federal tax policies, practices and/or procedures. One of the main goals of IMRS is to identify these systemic issues so we can make Headquarters aware of them, and hopefully get them resolved: (Decrease taxpayer burden and in turn hopefully increase voluntary compliance).

The next IMRS call will be this Thursday (5/22) from 8:30 - 9:00 am. Please see attached flyer for additional information including the AT&T conference call-in number and access code. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

Subject: FW: IMRS Fourth Thursday Call May 22, 2014 8:30-9:00 a.m.
Importance: High

Hi All

Would you be so kind as to forward this invitation to your practitioners!
Please remind the practitioners
If they are unable to attend the call, they can feel free to invite a fellow practitioner or member of their practitioner organization to attend. If they have a potential IMRS issue, they can also email the issue to you or to Regina.M.Lauridsen@irs.gov for review. We will mention the issue/concern on the call and solicit feedback from other practitioner participants.

We appreciate your help and thank you in advance. Have a great day!
